Belated Bangkok Trip Travel Log 1

After the long dicussion of where to go and when to go, decision had been made and we were going to Bangkok.

    Date: 16th - 20th Dec 2007
Tour Members: Me, MH, HC, WD, Vid, Mab, Dhar, Fel & Christie

Something bad happened at the beginning of the trip. The limo driver didn't turn up to pick us up as he claimed he didn't get our booking. Anyway, thanks to my sis & Christie's dad, we managed to get to LCCT.

Yes, it's Air Asia again. Everyone can fly. We took one of the earliest flight in the morning.

Nearly forgot to mention that the terminal was so crowded and kelam-kabut. It's like we're in the middle of wartime and everyone's rushing to get the flight out.

About 2 hours later, we arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport - 1st Landmark in Bangkok. After passport control and baggage claim, we went to the apartment - Omnitower, by the pre-arranged airport transfer.

Without wasting much time, we then took the Skytrain to the city centre to meet up with Chaiwat for lunch. It's Northern Thai food, where glutinuos rice was served instead of rice and there wasn't any Tom Yam. We had many dishes, but I couldn't recall. :p

    Yummy Northern Thai cuisine

After lunch, we decided to do some shopping.

Who could miss Chatuchak Weekend Market, right? We knew it's a huge market but we didn't know it's actually so mega-humongous. It has almost 9000 stalls. You could find whatever you could (& couldn't) think of. Household stuffs, food, clothings, shoes, whatsoever accessories, ..... even pets!

It's not fun to walk under neither the hot sun nor the crowded narrow alleys between stalls. I gave up like after 45 mins. Not to mention that it’s so easy to get lost there if you didn’t get a map.

Nevertheless, everyone from the group bought something. Well, it’s no doubt that it’s a paradise for the ‘pro’ shoppers if plans of what to buy are made before hands.

    It's very sunny outside!

After a short break back at the apartment, we then headed to the Chinatown for dinner. For the 1st time, people were trying to speak in our language so as to get some business. Chaiwat was the outsider in this case.

The dinner was ok (not nice la). Therefore, MH was so desperate to hunt for the crocodile meal. Surprisingly, not even the locals could show us where to go. At last, we managed to find one.

    So satisfied...

We call it a night after a short walking around Chinatown. ZZZZzzzzzz

    Simple Number Theory

I just visited my cousin's blog and found out about this youtube clip.

I don't think anyone needs to have a Math / Stats degree to be able to understand the calculations. It's as easy as ABC. Any Std 1 students can do this simple summation. No deduction, no multiplication, no division, no percentage, no differentiation, no integration……

It's disturbing. I'm officially a tax payer, and knowing that all the amount of taxes that I've contributed has not been spent wisely and put to good use. There is a large community of people live in poverty. The money wasted could have been channeled to help these poor people. Be it in the form of regular allowances or physical facilities.

What a shame! I don't think I want to be fooled again. This is my first time exercising the responsibility of a citizen, to vote for the right candidates to lead the country. Or should I say, preventing any incapables from winning any seats in the election.

Here's another youtube clip, which is fun to watch.

    38

Shame on you”!

    *******************************************************

Shame on you”!
